A combined solar and battery storage system for a precision manufacturing facility. The battery stores surplus morning generation and discharges during afternoon peak tariff hours, significantly reducing demand charges.
The Challenge
The manufacturer's energy-intensive production lines created sharp peak demand spikes during afternoon shifts. Standard solar alone could not address the peak demand charges that comprised 40% of their electricity bill. They also needed UPS backup for sensitive CNC machinery.
Our Solution
Bee Solar designed a 500 kWp array paired with a 200 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The energy management system automatically shifts stored solar to afternoon peak periods and provides 45 minutes of critical load backup during grid outages.
